Prehistoric Caves of Lascaux

IN LATE AUGUST 1949, though dying of cancer, Gurdjieff insisted on making a 350-mile journey to the south of France to see the caves of Lascaux. He believed it to be the center of a brotherhood whose emblem was the Great Stag. See The Gurdjieff Journal, Volume 7, Issue 3, "Gurdjieff at Lascaux."
